Visay was born in Banteay Meanchey Province and is a landmine accident survivor. After his accident Visay went to live at the Cambodian Landmine Museum in Siem Reap to gain an education and completed Grade 12. Despite his education and English language skills he found it difficult to find a good job. Prior to working at GFTV Visay worked as a bicycle security guard seven days a week for long hours and very little money. He started work at GFTV in 2016 and over the past couple of years he has expanded his skills and knowledge of the business and is now the Store Manager. He also makes handmade paper from recycled and natural materials (see video below). Visay has a warm, caring nature and a thirst for learning. He is our “go to man” when we need to source new materials or something needs fixing. He also assists GFTV with English translation with the local artisans and our overseas visitors. Eventually, Visay would like to obtain a job in an office. Note: Visay, achieved his dream and got an office job in Siem Reap, working for a Swedish company. Sadly he no longer has this job and is again looking for work. With the help of his good friend Mikael, he now has an articulated leg and can walk on 2 legs again. Something he hasn't done since he was a young boy. Videos
